Color scheme

I sort of got tired of my website's color scheme, which had a dark red background. It was starting to look kind of heavy to me. I decided to lighten it up a little. It's now pink against a dark gray background. I still kept red in the headings and external links. And I kept some black and white elements. It also jives more with my personal/business cards. Hope it doesn't look too girly, hehe.

Twitter & Facebook buttons

Ah, I've decided to join the countless others who have added Twitter and Facebook buttons to their website. Who knew Twitter and Facebook would outrun MySpace in user popularity, hmm...

I've been missing from the blogosphere because I'm back in school! My 36th birthday finally prompted my return. After I attained my AA in Liberal Arts and Sciences, I procrastinated for years for various reasons, including cost, schedule, commute. However, thanks to my little sister, I looked into studying online at the school she recommended. I talked to counselors, found out I qualified for discounted tuition and a grant, had my transcripts transferred, and booyah! I'm now pursuing a BS in Communication with a concentration in Technology! I have to say I'm a bit stressed and exhausted from being a full-time student and full-time worker bee. But it's all good 'cause I'm going after one of my life goals! I'm excited.

No more guestbook

After Blogger's FTP migration, I briefly reviewed my website and decided to canc my guestbook. It wasn't utilized much anyway. Maybe I'll change my mind again in a couple years. Now if I could just let go of some of my blogs, hehehe. ☺

John's and my birthdays are 6 days (8 years) apart. He turned 44, and I turned 36. For John's birthday, we had dinner at Ho Ping House. He got a complimentary cheesecake slice!

For my birthday, we enjoyed Teppanyaki at Hana Yori with friends, Shelley, Angie, and Tracy. I love, love, love their egg yolk sauce, although I hate to think how fatty it is. I also got a complimentary pineapple dessert!

Can hardly believe how old I am now, eek, lol.

New Year's

There was a severe weather warning with lake effect over New Year's, so John, Sirius, and I had a quiet celebration at home. ☺ We got over a foot of snow that weekend! Nice to get downtime after traveling.

My resolution was to avoid the 7 deadly sins - anger, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, pride, sloth, after watching a show on the History channel. However, I'm discovering this is actually hard to execute in its entirety! Thus, I'm sort of trying in varying degrees, hehe.

I know I'm behind on blogging. It's just easier to post on Twitter and Facebook sometimes. I had a wonderful Christmas with my beautiful family in the DC area. We attended the candlelight service at church on Christmas Eve, a family tradition. We missed my little sister Cay, who was unable to visit this time.

We also road tripped to Atlantic City and stayed at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel. I broke even for the most part. I love roulette, real or digital, hehe!

When we got back, I met up with my friends, Carine, Faz, and Doyle, for karaoke and drinks.

I enjoyed being back on the east coast, even for a short while!
